Job Description
Applied Materials is looking for a junior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Design Team supporting the YTG platform. This role is well suited for an engineer with a solid electrical engineering foundation, strong curiosity, and a hands-on mindset who is eager to grow within a dynamic and evolving product environment.
The YTG platform, specially in Semiconductor, is under continuous development, offering broad exposure to electrical design, system integration, and cross-functional engineering activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build experience across multiple technical areas before gradually focusing on a specialization aligned with their strengths and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Support electrical design activities for Semiconductor and Display equipment within the YTG platform
Read, understand, and work with electrical circuit diagrams and system schematics
Perform hands-on engineering tasks related to electrical subsystems, including analysis, testing, and documentation
Collaborate closely with other electrical, mechanical, and system engineers with clearly defined scope interfaces
Support system-level integration activities and assist in issue investigation and resolution in house and at our supplier
Contribute to design updates, engineering changes, and product improvements under guidance of senior engineers
Participate in reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives within the team
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
Entry-level to early-career experience
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
Practical, hands-on engineering orientation with willingness to work close to the hardware
Strong curiosity and motivation to learn across a broad technical scope
Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and collaborate across engineering disciplines
Good communication skills in a technical team setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to electrical design for systems or equipment (academic or industry)
Basic experience with system-level electrical design or integration
Familiarity with engineering documentation, design reviews, or change processes
Interest in growing toward broader system engineering responsibilities over time
