As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical or electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and drawings to advance the equipment that supports our technology. Using your technical experience and critical thinking skills, you will perform engineering analysis, generate test reports, develop innovative solutions, and create documentation for product releases. You will also coordinate the procurement and assembly of components, identify sources of critical parts, and resolve technical issues to ensure peak performance.

Summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to support the definition and specification of next-generation 300 mm wafer-level substrate processing equipment. This role focuses on early-stage electrical architecture, safety systems, and tool-level control concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, review, and support AC and DC electrical distribution systems for industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Interpret and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Perform panel assembly support, field wiring verification, and integration of industrial electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits ranging from simple control circuits to moderately complex industrial systems.
  • Support the implementation and commissioning of control systems, including sensors, actuators, relays, power supplies, and PLC-based equipment.
  • Select, install, and troubleshoot industrial connectors, terminal blocks, cable assemblies, and panel wiring components.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and service engineers.
  • Assist with system validation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical and controls-related issues.
  • Support documentation updates, engineering change requests, and design improvements.
  • Follow applicable electrical standards, safety practices, and company engineering procedures.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AC and DC power distribution systems.
  • Understanding of industrial control systems and electrical control circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial connectors, panel wiring, cable routing, and electrical integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems from basic to moderately complex circuits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment or industrial tools
  • Exposure to system-level architecture definition

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
