Key Responsibilities
Develop and produce electrical system designs for building services projects, including:
Load estimation and demand calculations
Power distribution systems and single-line diagrams
Lighting layouts, lighting controls, and emergency lighting
Low-voltage systems and grounding/earthing designs
Protective device coordination and energy-efficient solutions
Prepare and maintain design documentation including drawings, schedules, schematics, and technical reports for global project submissions.
Apply BIM tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, etc.) to produce models and coordinate electrical systems with other disciplines.
Actively collaborate with international design teams to integrate electrical designs into multidisciplinary project workflows.
Participate in remote coordination meetings, technical workshops, and cross-office reviews, ensuring alignment of deliverables and resolving design issues.
Support project managers and senior engineers in preparing tender documents, reviewing design packages, and maintaining quality standards.
Work independently on assigned tasks, delivering outputs accurately and on schedule while coordinating frequently with overseas counterparts.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical building services design.
Exposure to multidisciplinary design coordination within consultancy or engineering projects.
Technical Skills
Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM workflows.
Working knowledge of electrical system design principles (power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, low-voltage).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with ETAP, Dialux, or similar design software is an advantage.
Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, NEC, etc.) preferred.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to team goals.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate across global teams and time zones.
Desirable but not required
Experience working on international projects with regional or global offices.
Exposure to sustainable design practices, smart building technologies, or green building certification standards (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark).
