Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and ongoing improvement of power distribution and protection equipment.

This position focuses on product-level electrical design, including component selection, circuit development, thermal considerations, system integration, technical documentation, and hands-on troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs for power distribution and protection equipment.
  • Select electrical components and interconnection hardware based on system requirements.
  • Support thermal design and mechanical packaging concepts for electrical products.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal systems.
  • Develop engineering specifications and technical requirements for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other engineering documentation.
  • Support the qualification and integration of third-party devices into power distribution equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews to evaluate product performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and contribute to customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for both newly launched and existing power protection products.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems through hands-on testing and analysis.
  • Support product safety certification activities with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL), including applicable UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
  • Work with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve technical and product-related issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software
  • Experience designing power distribution systems or equipment such as:
    • PDU (Power Distribution Unit)
    • STS (Static Transfer Switch)
    • RPP (Remote Power Panel)
    • Switchboards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using electrical engineering laboratory equipment, such as:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Network analyzers
    • Signal generators
    • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and power systems
    • Strong laboratory and hands-on testing skills
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
    • Excellent written, verbal, and technical documentation skills
