Our elections team is looking for an electoral services officer. The team is responsible for organising and delivering elections and referendums across Wiltshire, ensuring they are conducted in line with legal requirements and best practice. The team also manages the Register of Electors, handles postal and proxy voting arrangements and runs the annual canvass.
The postholder will help maintain the accuracy of the Register of Electors, provide advice and guidance on electoral processes and support voter engagement and democratic participation. The role also involves training election staff, managing election counts, resolving complex registration and voting queries and supporting the Returning Officer in fulfilling statutory responsibilities to ensure fair, accurate, and efficient elections.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in electoral services or a similar administrative role, with strong communication, organisational, and IT skills. They will be able to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and work both independently and as part of a team while providing excellent customer service.
