Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop and implement EHS programs and SOPs generated from Viatris guidelines and local requirements.
- Ensure compliance with EHS and GMP requirements.
- Update EHS metrics as required.
- Conduct EHS trainings/orientation as required to site colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Update/follow compliance calendar and implement calendar activities in timely manner.
- Conduct environmental, health and safety risk assessments, create related action plans and follow up with stakeholder on timely manner execution.
- Create action plan for findings generated from audits and inspections and follow up on timely manner execution.
- Manage assigned EHS projects.
- Lead assigned EHS investigations and prepare final reports including root cause analysis and required CAPA.
- Promote a sustainable compliance culture from the EHS perspective based on the principles of continuous improvement, accountability & colleagues’ engagement.
- Manage site contractors in EHS related aspects and communicate requirements to different stakeholders.
- Implement internal audit/inspection plan as scheduled including preparation of reports/action plans.
- Issue and manage EHS related purchase orders.
- Train/manage team members when required.
- Prepare EHS reports to EHS manager of site metrics/focus topics updates.
- Ensure compliance with EHS training requirements.
- Ensure EHS incidents are properly reported, investigated documented.
- Ensure that hazard identification process at site is effective and risk mitigation plans are in place.
- Assist with maintaining the site emergency preparedness plan and procedures.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- BSc in Engineering or Science.
- Minimum 3-year proven experience in EHS, preferably in manufacturing plants.
- NEBOSH IGC is a plus.
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
- Willing to learn and acquire knowledge and new skills rapidly.
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft office and using of platforms/portals.
- Analytical problem-solving mindset.
- Self-discipline and planning mindset.
- Confident personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Familiar with work environments of diverse teams and cultures.
- Understanding EHS deliverables and context.
