Job Summary
EDW Data Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing data infrastructure for data collection, management, transformation, and access. Creates pipelines that convert raw data into usable formats for data scientists and other data consumers to utilize. Builds and leverages information loaded into the Belk Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. Responsible for developing and overseeing processes that support data environments. Responsible for interpretation of information in these environments and validating this data with the source data environments. Plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends.
Job Duties:
- Design and implement database solutions to store, secure and use enterprise data.
- Implement process improvements and tuning measures to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Maintain necessary controls to ensure data security and integrity.
- Design and implement enterprise data architecture to support analytics, reporting and insights across multiple business units.
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines in Snowflake for data ingestion, transformation and loading from various sources in Snowflake and enable effective reporting from the data using Python and SQL.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- B.S. degree (or foreign equiv.) in Comp. Sci., Eng. or related field & 5 yrs. exp. in job offered or 5 yrs. exp. as a Data Analyst, Analyst or Developer.
- Concurrent exp. must incl.: 5 yrs. exp. ensuring data integrity; and 5 yrs. exp. using Snowflake, Python and SQL.
