JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an Editorial Producer to join the Ingraham Angle team in DC. As the Editorial Producer, you will be responsible for approving banners, video clips, sound bites, graphics, and additional elements.  You will also pitch stories, help lead coverage during breaking news, and potentially travel to field produce big interviews. The Editorial Producer has excellent editorial judgment and experience in helping cover breaking news.

  

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute original content and select the best elements for the show

  • Help lead our coverage during breaking news

  • Write banners and coordinate guest appearances

  • Potentially travel to field produce big interviews

  • Identify and pitch compelling stories 

  • Participate in daily team meetings to develop show content

  • Oversee research packets and facts for day-of air

  • Participate in editorial decisions for both day of and future programs

  • Facilitate effective communication with the show host

  • Manage and communicate with talent, producers, bookers, and the control room during breaking news

  • Participate in daily team meetings to develop show content

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a newsroom environment, producing television newscasts

  • Excellent organizational, editorial, and writing skills

  • Ability to step in and line produce if needed

  • Approve and edit scripts, banners, and full screens

  • Experience working in a control room 

  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and while meeting multiple daily deadlines

  • Strong passion for and knowledge of current events, news, and politics

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-125,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
