The GE Healthcare Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) Internship offers professional development through a challenging internship in a dynamic, fast-paced, medical technology business. Interns work on software engineering assignments guided by technical mentors. 

Previous Project Examples: 

• Wireless hands-free peripheral communication development for infant care incubator 

• AI implementation for next-generation labor and delivery surveillance 

• Flow analysis tooling for respiratory care monitor 

• AWS cloud security landing zone implementation 

• Augmented reality device servicing tooling 

• MR Coil ChatGPT data analysis tool development 

Responsibilities: 
As a EEDP Software intern, you will receive a summer project that pertains to different parts of the business at GE HealthCare. Assignments may include:  

• Designing, testing and/or debugging functions and features of GE Healthcare products  

• Designing, testing and/or debugging functions and features of development/test tools 

• Data analytics 

• Documentation 

 
Qualifications: 

• Current undergraduate student continuing in an accredited degree program after summer 2025; limited to individuals continuing to pursue an undergraduate or master's degree after the summer of 2025; 

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (with a focus on software) or equivalent degree;  

• Required Skillset: Java, C++, and/or Python; 

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms;  

• Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Computer Engineering or Computer Science areas;  

• Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams;  

• Proven leadership skills and/or experience;  

• Able to work for a minimum of 10 weeks;  

• Willing to relocate to greater Milwaukee, WI area (limited remote opportunities may be available); relocation assistance and housing stipend available 

 
Desired Characteristics: 

• A prior internship or co-op with software and/or firmware design experience;  

• Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale);  

• Proficiency in software languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Shell scripting, C, and/or Matlab; 

• Experience with object-oriented design methodology, and/or algorithm development; 

• Experience with agile principles and methodologies;  

• Experience with Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence technologies;  

• Passion for a career in healthcare technology
