General Summary
As the EDI Lead Developer, you will lead the team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining EDI solutions to support our business operations. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless data exchange and integration with our partners and clients. This position is a full-time, onsite position, based out of Grand Rapids, MI (not a remote position).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain EDI maps and processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather requirements and implement EDI solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions and resolve any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide technical support to business analysts and EDI end users.
- Document EDI processes and maintain accurate records.
- Provide technical guidance, make significant technical decisions & mentor junior EDI developers.
- Responsible to complete projects on-time and on-budget.
- Manage a team of developers, keeping them focused on critical objectives.
- Mentor the team by providing guidance and technical expertise.
- Oversee project planning, task allocation, and timeline management.
Job Specifications
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
- 10 years EDI experience required.
- Proficiency in EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and XML.
- Strong knowledge of EDI mapping and translation tools.
- Understanding of ERP applications and related EDI business logic.
- Strong understanding of database design principles preferred.
- Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio preferred.
- Experience in Progress OpenEdge development preferred.
- Proficiency in Progress 4GL and ABL preferred.
Skills and abilities
- Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking.
- Ability to interact and communicate within the organization and with customers.
- Ability to learn new computer software applications quickly.
- Logical, process-oriented nature.

Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable. Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Some traveling is required.
