As a Developer specializing in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integrations at Smithfield Foods, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational efficiency and ensuring seamless communication between our business partners and internal systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining EDI solutions that facilitate the exchange of critical business data, enabling us to meet our supply chain and business objectives. The Developer- EDI Integrations is responsible for supporting and developing in Smithfield’s EDI System Integration landscape. They are tasked with analysis, troubleshooting, development, and delivery of EDI Transactions and mftp connections. This position will develop with the employee to incorporate transformations with integrations and future capabilities. The focus of this role is analysis and development within IBM SCBN EDI and to work alongside the Integrations team for future integration applications to target end state architecture and end state technology stack to support project and production capabilities and timelines.
As part of the Global Applications & Operations team, the Integrations Technical Analyst is responsible for maintenance, support and ongoing enhancement of EDI Transactions within Smithfield’s middleware and integration components landscape. They will be focused upon both internal applications and external business partners. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the application development, enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams, as well as cross functional project teams, to support and develop in application integrations to facilitate successful integration into the IT&T system portfolio.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Support, troubleshoot, and develop EDI integrations and development within the IBM Sterling Cloud Business Network (SCBN).

Support middleware resources to translate defined business functional and non-functional requirements into a detailed design for application integrations with the assistance and support of engineers, Technical Integrations Manager, and various line of business initiatives.

Support integrations team and project teams in working with business and technology delivery teams proactively, and on an as needed basis, through other platform, relationship, and development managers.

Support the transformation of legacy application integrations towards alignment with Smithfield standards of reusability and reliability through initiatives and programs as assigned.

Troubleshoot, develop and test technical solutions in a manner that meets the needs of the organization in a reliable and maintainable fashion.

Ensure that all solutions follow security, compliance controls, and conformance to IT security policies.
WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Information Technology or related field and 2+ years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Experience in EDI or Integration systems work (Ex: Boomi, GoAnywhere, EDI-X12, SAP IDOC. PO).

Understanding and experience with standard EDI and Warehouse documents a must.
-
Understanding of vendor/service management via SLA’s, etc.
-
Base understanding of SAP functionality in SD and MM Modules (Specifically EDI outputs, IDOCs, Partner Profiles).

Knowledge and understanding of integrating applications with SAP (preferably S/4 HANA.
-
Knowledge and understanding of Information with middleware and Integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, PO/PI and IBM APIC).

Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology design concepts, strategies, and standards
-
Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers is a plus.
