Job Description

EDC Solutions at Education Development Center, Inc. has an opening for an EDC Solutions Finance Manager reporting to the Managing Director. US-based remote candidates will be considered.

The Finance Manager plays an integral role on the EDC Solutions business team and requires an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and a customer-focused approach to support staff, sponsors, and colleagues. The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate the ability to understand and navigate the technical requirements of implementing and managing project-based contracts and budgets while also applying critical reasoning skills to analyze, interpret, and communicate business outcomes, financial projections, and risk assessments.

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports such as project over/under spending analyses and estimates-to-complete, project financial status reports, and profit and loss statements; provide status updates to the Division Finance Director; and work closely with senior management and project leaders to determine action items.
  • Provide financial expertise to key leaders engaged in developing new business initiatives that require alternative financial models and business strategies.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts, generate quarterly fiscal reports for senior management, and present an analysis of current status with clear recommendations to senior management.
  • Advise project directors on matters of compliance and financial terms of grants/contracts in close coordination with EDC’s Office of Sponsored Programs.
  • Develop budgets and supporting financial materials for grant and contract submissions in compliance with RFPs/RFAs and EDC guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet modeling, including the ability to build dynamic spreadsheets with multiple variables, to create reports, summarize, and analyze data using Excel, and other spreadsheet and proprietary applications
  • At least 3-6 years of experience conducting financial analysis, preparing financial reports, and developing budgets
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Account Principles
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines; attentiveness to detail

  • Master's degree
  • Experience developing and managing budgets for both federal and non-federal sponsors in a sponsored research, non-profit environment is preferred

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $66,000 to $99,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
