Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr Dir EMEA DC & Transportation, EDC Manager Logistics will provide supply chain and/or logistical advice and consultations with leadership team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for a typically medium to high complex operation.

Determines directions, priorities and assigns resources with full accountability for results of functional area. Responsible for establishing and managing budget for one or more departments within a functional discipline such as warehousing, transportation, inventory/materials control, import/export etc. Implement action plans to ensure adequate level of inventory and supply to the full region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Ability to participate in cross-functional discussions to meet strategic initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility. Assembles and communicates operational business plans and results to support business initiatives.
    • Utilizes expertise of internal and/or external to Solventum operational plans or research efforts to drive business opportunities throughout the functional area of responsibility.
    • Establish governance frameworks to support the performance of the 3PL and ensure metrics are met with robust processes across all areas.
       
  • Capability Development
    • Drive innovation in the EDC operation considers mainly the Warehouse Lay Out, VAS, sustainability, and end-to-end process to achieve the top performance operations.
    • Design and implement the agile scope of the future-state of the EDC capabilities, including technology, processes, and people skills.
       
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Be the main voice, representing the Logistics input in the multiple sessions with partners around the company, to ensure the priorities are merged with the company objectives.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the Region senior team to support the DC synergy and implement best ways of working between sites.
       
  • Team Leadership
    • Build, develop, and inspire a team who run the daily operations at the EDC, to maintain the level of service and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and career development paths within and beyond the EDC Team.
       
  • Performance Management
    • Ensure KPIs are achieved, as well as monitor performance of the 3PL services and outsourced providers.
    • Drive cost optimization and service improvements through data-driven, decision-making & innovation.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
       
  • Experience
    • fundamental experience in Warehousing management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
    • Proven track record in leading DC successful operations and managing outsourced providers.
    • Strong understanding GDP & OSHAS regulations, and knowledge of managing Dangerous Goods and Medical devices.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Standards
       
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across global, matrixed organizations.
    • Deep knowledge of ERP & WMS, analytics, and best practices.
    • Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into actionable plans and to drive change.
    • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering measurable impact.
    • Innovative mindset and ability to challenge the status quo.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills at executive level.
    • Strong German and English language skills, both written and spoken

Work location: Zulpich (DE)

Travel: May include up to 10% (domestic/international)
