Objective of the Programme:

The Centre for Nature and Climate (CNC) is a multistakeholder platform that Facilitating cooperation to foster shared prosperity and resilience through climate and nature solutions.

The centre helps regional leaders connect with global community and peers to make sense of complex climate and nature transitions and turn shared understanding into practical pathways for delivery. Through the CNC communities and initiatives, thought leadership and partnerships, the World Economic Forum makes climate and nature action integral to economic opportunity, resilience and long-term advantage. 

This candidate will support the team lead to undertake an execution of current initiative deliverables, and scoping exercise to identify emerging opportunities in China that can connect the impacts with global narratives. The ECP will primarily support on the centre’s Earth System Agenda (Land and ocean systems as foundations of resilience and long-term value) and People Agenda (Food, water and healthy living for people and planet).

Duration and Location:

6-month full-time position at the World Economic Forum Beijing Representative Office

Preferred Start Date:

Between September 01,2026 and October 01,2026

Key responsibilities and outcomes:

  • Content and Policy Management: Conduct research and support workstream outputs in the form of reports, blogs, videos, and other knowledge products related to food transition, ecosystem and nature positive transition, and general sustainability agenda.

  • Community and Stakeholder Management: Support outreach, coordination, and onboarding of thematic relevant stakeholders from public sectors and business partners. Facilitate internal alignment across Forum teams and with external collaborators.

  • Events Management: Assist in the design and delivery of co-branded and co-hosted sessions, workshops, single session event, casual gatherings and other joint activities with NDRC and other stakeholders.

  • Communications and Marketing: Draft communication materials, including agendas, blogs, and social media content, to enhance the visibility of China's green transition and the Forum's Centre for Nature and Climate initiatives.

  • Technology Innovation and Digital Enhancements: Support the integration of digital tools and innovative approaches in project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

  • Undertake other related tasks that are institutionally importance as assigned by the manager

Profile Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Preferred fields include Environmental Studies, Science/Engineering, Business Administration, Public Policy, and Social Sciences (or related disciplines). A master’s degree with 1–3 years of professional experience is preferred. Recent graduates with deep subject-matter expertise will also be considered.

  • Relevant Experience: We highly value backgrounds in business consulting, project management, operational excellence, or NGO work. Specialized experience in agriculture, food systems, earth sciences, ecology, or carbon/climate initiatives is a distinct advantage.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to deliver high-quality results against tight deadlines is essential. We are looking for entrepreneurial, self-starting individuals with broad intellectual curiosity.

  • Collaboration & Communication: We seek a collaborative team player with outstanding communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges.

  • Writing & Language: Superior written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to craft insight reports and deliver compelling pitches/presentations. Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory.
