The Economic Consultant will work with the Educational Professional Services team and will be responsible for planning and executing research on economic issues related to the higher education market. They will produce economic impact studies, program demand gap analyses, data models, and visualizations that answer the most pressing problems about the value of higher education and how the market can respond to the future of work.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support client projects by performing quantitative analysis using Lightcast world-class data and other data sources to research, model, and recommend standard solutions for colleges and universities.
- Build models and work with large datasets, reports, and visualizations that dig deeper into the alignment of programs to the labor market and the value of higher education.
- Communicate key insights and recommendations to clients and consult clients on how to use data to make data-driven decisions.
- Develop innovative analytical models and document the methodology and findings in a manner accessible to a variety of audiences.
- Contribute to positive team culture by participating in team-building activities and being a supportive and empathetic colleague.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience or education in Economics or a field with a quantitative and analytic focus.
- Experience making data-driven decisions, preferably for higher education institutions, preferred.
- Strong analytical and technical skills and demonstrated ability to apply economic theory or statistical techniques.
- Ability to explain (written and verbal) complex concepts in simple, concrete terms.
- Ability to meet milestones while juggling multiple responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required and SQL, Python, or related applications is preferred.
- Naturally inquisitive and working mastery of the use of economic theory, data analysis, and ability to communicate trends to a wide audience.
- Passionate about finding creative ways to apply data and market actionable insights.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Likes to work independently, while also collaborating with other members of the team.
