Role Overview 

As DUAL enters the Regional Commercial market, the role of Business Development Manager is key to ensure we deliver a joined-up DUAL to our Broker Partners. You will be responsible for bringing the whole of DUAL UK to market, covering 25+ products across our Commercial, Personal and Speciality business lines. You will work closely with Underwriters from across the business and the local leadership team to shape solutions for brokers and customers.  

This is a new role for DUAL UK in the London & South East market and provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Insurance professional to shape how DUAL UK delivers its proposition into the local market. You will be joining in the early stages of our Regional Commercial build. 

 

Key responsibilities  

  • Enable DUAL UK to deliver on its ambitious growth plans 

  • Lead market engagement in the London & South East, ensuring we deliver a joined-up DUAL to our Broker partners  

  • Develop strong working relationships with Underwriting colleagues  

  • Utilise and contribute towards the development various distribution assets (CRM and MI suite) to enable better decisions  

  • Triage opportunities and facilitate the growth of relationships between brokers and the various centres of excellence DUAL hold   

  • Co-create multi-year plans with brokers and deliver against them, taking proactive action to address gaps to plan  

  • Ensure effective delivery of strategic initiatives, new product launches, and proposition refreshes  

  • Be the “eyes and ears” for DUAL UK in the local market  

  • Play an active role in driving innovation and development ideas across Distribution and DUAL UK 

  

Key skills and attributes  

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience operating in Commercial lines market preferable  

  • Highly engaging communicator with excellent inter-personal skills 

  • Strong ability to influence and negotiate with brokers and underwriters 

  • Strong financial acumen and presentation skills 

  • Analytical and creative thinker in meeting Underwriting needs whilst working in partnership with brokers 

  • Ability to motivate and gain buy-in from others effectively 

  • Committed to learning and development i.e. continual professional development. ACII qualified, or working towards preferable  

  • Self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
