StudioBuilt homes are constructed at Amherst’s housing studio in Cuero, Texas as well as partner studios across the Southeast and then installed on site. At full capacity, the Cuero facility will create over 250 manufacturing jobs, making Amherst the third largest employer in the area. The StudioBuilt team is comprised of experienced individuals from all trades, working to continuously improve the production process.
We are looking for professionals with experience in Framing /Drywall within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience on construction sites or working in a component or Modular manufacturing facility. If you possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership traits this is the opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of a new venture in Modular housing in our CUERO TX factory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Plant and Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

Will Lead and help develop manufacturing associates and apprentices
-
Fit cut and fasten wallboard or sheetrock into specified position
-
Measure and mark cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim
-
Install blanket installation in between studs. And exterior house wrap
-
Assemble and install steel stud framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and vents
-
Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, materials, and tool requirements.

Lay out reference lines and points, computes position of framing, and marks position using chalk line
-
Install horizontal and vertical metal or wooden studs for attachment of wallboard on interior walls, using hand tools

wood framing, and trim to size, using cutting tools

Layout walls from gridlines

Fabricate box headers and king stud assemblies

Attach framing using pneumatic nail guns or screws
-
Build and install box headers
-
Frame openings for mechanical and other openings in accordance with structural drawings

Ensure walls are square
-
Install door jambs in framing as required
-
Frame block outs for doors, windows, and other openings

Install access panels in framing, grid ceiling systems, sheathing or cement board in accordance with specifications and local building codes

Install flashing at windows and doors and sound and fire caulking as required

Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills and Experience

High School Diploma

4-year relevant work experience

Able to follow instructions, written and verbal

Follow all safety practices

Able to work in a manufacturing environment including the physical demands of the job

Able to lift 50 lbs

Able to stand for 8+ hours to accomplish work tasks

Able to use the tools and processes for the role

Requires good manual dexterity (hand, arm, and multi-limb coordination)

Able to work overtime as scheduled
