Regulus C-UxS solutions redefine modern defense against uncrewed threats with AI-powered point defense.
The Role
Lead a small research team to reverse-engineer and analyze drone communications, flight-controller firmware, GNSS behavior and RF links. Build test platforms, run lab/field experiments, maintain a prioritized drone-threat intelligence list, and produce actionable reports for EW R&D to improve detection, jamming, and spoofing capabilities.

Description

Regulus is an agile defense-tech startup tackling the most complex challenges in counter-drone and unscrewed defense. With hundreds of combat-proven systems deployed by the IDF and global partners, we are now engineering the next generation of C-UxS (Counter-Uncrewed Systems). We leverage advanced electronic warfare and kinetic measures to detect and neutralize hostile threats. If you want to push technological boundaries while safeguarding Israel and our allies, join us at this pivotal stage of our growth.

This is a unique opportunity to join a company at a pivotal growth stage and help shape its products, culture, and future.

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Drone Technology Researcher to lead a specialized, agile research team. This role is critical to our mission of staying ahead of emerging drone threats. Your team will focus strictly on the electronic and signal aspects of drones—specifically communication protocols, flight controllers, and GNSS systems—rather than their electro-mechanical or aerodynamic properties.

Your primary objective will be to deconstruct, study, and understand modern drone technologies to empower our Electronic Warfare (EW) R&D team with actionable insights for drone detection, jamming, and spoofing. You will manage daily operations, track progress, build non-standard test platforms, and maintain a priority-based threat intelligence matrix.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and mentor a small team of junior researchers. Assign tasks, manage ongoing lab/field activities, and track research progress to ensure milestones are met efficiently.

● Build non-standard drones using custom or off-the-shelf components. Conduct rigorous lab and field tests to study their electronic behavior under various conditions.

●Perform deep dives into drone communication protocols (RF links, Wi-Fi, proprietary telemetry), flight controller firmware, and GNSS navigation systems to identify vulnerabilities and operational mechanics.

● Translate technical findings into practical, actionable insights for the EW R&D team to improve our counter-drone capabilities (detection, RF jamming, and GPS/GNSS spoofing).

● Continuously monitor the internet, forums, dark webs, and tech spaces for emerging drone technologies, DIY trends, and evolving tactics.

● Maintain a continuously updated, priority-based "drone threat list." Create detailed, evidence-based reports on new technologies with clearly cited sources, and confidently present these findings across the company.

Requirements

●No formal academic degree is required. However, deep, provable hands-on experience and familiarity with the drone/sUAS ecosystem is absolutely mandatory.

●Intimate knowledge of drone electronics, flight controllers (e.g., Betaflight, ArduPilot, PX4), communication links (e.g., ExpressLRS, Crossfire, DJI OcuSync), GNSS modules, SDR and RF Experience.

● Proven ability to manage projects, track tasks, and guide a small technical team in a highly dynamic R&D environment.

● Strong ability to connect how a drone communicates and navigates to how it can be detected, disrupted, or spoofed.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills to author clear, sourced reports and brief R&D engineering teams.

Skills Required

  • Deep, provable hands-on experience with the drone/sUAS ecosystem
  • Intimate knowledge of drone electronics and flight controllers (Betaflight, ArduPilot, PX4)
  • Experience with communication links (ExpressLRS, Crossfire, DJI OcuSync)
  • GNSS modules, GNSS navigation systems and spoofing knowledge
  • SDR and RF experience
  • Proven ability to manage projects and guide a small technical team in R&D
  • Ability to translate communications/navigation analysis into detection, jamming, and spoofing tactics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to author sourced reports and brief teams

What We Do

Regulus closes the critical gap between long-range strategic systems and the last few hundred meters of point defense, providing the autonomous last line of defense against drones and other uncrewed threats. Regulus C-UxS solutions redefine modern defense against uncrewed threats with AI-powered, decentralized mesh and point-defense systems and networks. Our soft-kill EW Ring family and the DART hard-kill interceptor can each be deployed as independent products; powered by LeC2 and Orchestra - our autonomous mesh command-and-control network - they seamlessly connect to create Ring Origami, an integrated close-in defense layer that detects, coordinates, and neutralizes current and future close-range threats in real time - with no person on the loop. While most defense startups focus on tactical-range interception (2–5 km) - an approach whose effectiveness is rapidly eroding as threats harden, communications improve, and autonomy and maneuverability increase - Regulus is building the resilient, close-range shield modern forces need around them. Strategic systems such as lasers, missiles, and other long-range interceptors remain essential for extended-range defense, a domain dominated by primes due to its complexity, cost, and long development cycles; Regulus complements these systems by securing the final meters. Built on unmatched combat experience and hundreds of combat-proven systems, Regulus is creating a scalable, multi-domain C-UxS architecture designed to outpace emerging threats. As defense and homeland security markets accelerate their demand for next-generation autonomy, Regulus is positioned to become a new-era defense leader - driving the counter-uncrewed revolution and defining the future of intelligent defense infrastructure.
