- Key Duties and Accountabilities:
• Design and assist with architectural projects from concept through to completion, developing and presenting detailed plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Create and revise design plans, sections, elevations, and details as required.
• Review drawings and documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission,
implementing feedback from senior staff to improve design quality.
• Provide innovative and sustainable design solutions tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in all drawings and documentation to prevent errors during
construction.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and inform design decisions, ensuring designs comply with relevant planning schemes and zoning regulations.
• Learn and apply knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards, including AS1428.1 for access and mobility.
• Gain proficiency in commercial and industrial design documentation and practices.
• Use architectural software proficiently for project design and management.
• Create high-quality
3D renderings for projects and marketing. • Prepare and submit development applications and building permits. •Coordinate with the team to meet project requirements and facilitate effective communication. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy in all drawings and documentation. • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and materials. • Support the training of new employees to help them integrate into the team and understand company practices. • Contribute to the development and refinement of company procedures and systems. • Perform office administration tasks including answering the office phone, preparing documents, researching materials and council guidelines. • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in residential, commercial, and industrial design. • Actively seek feedback and engage in self-assessment for continuous improvement in design practices and project management. • Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Qualifications, Licenses Clearances:
• Diploma of Building Design or Degree in Architecture.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design and documentation on Australian Commercial projects including offices, showrooms, warehouses and workshops.
• Proficiency in architectural software such as ArchiCAD, Twin-motion, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes (NCC/BCA) and
Australian Standards.
