Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector is looking for a Drafter 2/3 to join our team in Boulder, Colorado.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer-aided design tools to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.
- Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
- Interpret design sketches, engineering notes, and specifications to produce technical drawings
- Develop and maintain accurate drafting documentation, including assembly drawings and schematics.
This requisition may be filled as either a level 2 or level 3.
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 years with a Master's. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance
- Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models
- Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with or knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems

- Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with or knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems
Preferred Qualification:
- Proficient in CAD software including NX, CAD CREO, or SOLID WORKS
- Experience with Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
- Experience in developing Electronic Part specifications, particularly using military or Industry requirements and specifications
- Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- 5 years’ experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies
- Familiar with ASME Standards
- Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial
