As the DPI Global Cybersecurity Risk Apprentice, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain practical experience in real-world scenarios, develop a comprehensive understanding of global cyber threats and defense strategies, and more.
This is a 12-month program and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in conducting information risk assessments for existing and new services, eventually providing consultative advice to enable informed risk management decisions.


  • Support the implementation and monitoring of risk controls, gaining hands-on experience in practical risk management strategies.


  • Help gather and organize data for vendor risk assessments, learning how to evaluate and rank vendor risks under supervision.


  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to understand the broader context of enterprise risk management and how different departments collaborate.


  • Assist in preparing risk assessment reports and presentations, developing skills in communicating complex information to stakeholders.


  • Shadow experienced team members in vendor management activities, learning about regulatory compliance and remediation planning.


  • Contribute to the maintenance of risk management documentation and databases, gaining familiarity with risk tracking systems and processes.


  • Attend training sessions and workshops to build knowledge of risk management frameworks, policies, and best practices.


  • Support the team in day-to-day operations, including scheduling, note-taking, and basic data analysis tasks.


  • Adhere to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all security practices, developing a strong foundation in professional ethics and security protocols.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of the DPI career development program


  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as communication & collaboration capabilities


  • Technical background or demonstrable understanding of a range of operational and IT risks and operations


  • An ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and pay attention to sources of information from inside and outside one's network within an organization


  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
