The domain architect’s role is to further develop the architectural vision for the business domain and work with enterprise architects, digital business partners, subject matter experts, and program managers to shape domain and solution architecture deliverables. You also act as a solution architect for strategic initiatives in the business domain, where you will be driving the scoping phase to clearly surface the requirements and translate these requirements into recommendations for the best fit-for-purpose architectures. You will actively facilitate workshops, challenge assumptions (internally and with external partners). You will also participate in the delivery phase of these projects where you will be involved in the decision making, execution & follow up and validation to ensure solutions really work for the business.Your responsibilities
Develop and maintain an architecture blueprint for the business domain landscape (pragmatic and fit-for-purpose, focused on clarity and impact).
You translate functional and non-functional requirements into an efficient, reliable, scalable, and future proof domain and solution architecture. You can translate business problems into clear scope, requirements and solution direction.
Plan, execute, and manage the further development of existing applications in the business domain landscape in collaboration with business leaders and digital business partners.
Plan, execute, and manage the implementation of new applications into existing systems and software throughout the business domain landscape in collaboration with business leaders and digital business partners.
Ensure that the projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve functional and technical issues. You ensure stakeholders stay aligned and decisions are made in time.
Ensure that planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision.
Research and make recommendations on solutions and services in support of procurement and development efforts. You can confidently challenge external vendors/consultants and safeguard DEME’s interests.
Build relationships with software development and engineering teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality. You can explain complex topics in a simple way to both business and technical teams.
Build relationships with vendors and integrators of application software deployed in the organization’s IT environment to learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree (preferably in IT or a related domain) or equivalent by experience.
Any Enterprise Architecture, agile and/or project management certification is a strong bonus.
You have experience as a domain architect or as an business consultant (or senior business analyst), ideally in a complex stakeholder environment.
Experience in an operational and/or maritime context would be a plus (but is not required).
Strong knowledge of technologies and trends relevant to IT and Enterprise Architecture (a solid IT foundation is required; deep specialist knowledge is not a must).
Experience with projects involving different technologies and application platforms in a large organization and demonstrated knowledge of the challenges faced by different teams in producing an integrated enterprise-wide solution.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork and facilitation and this at various levels; ability to navigate the enterprise and project “politics”; able to drive change in an organization; natural authority. You are hands-on, deliver results and take ownership—beyond advising.
