Roles and responsibilities
As a Domain Architect you will be part of the Wholesale Banking Centre of Expertise (CoE) Architecture. You translate business vision and strategy into effective architecture by creating, communicating, and improving models, principles and architecture decisions that describe the current and shape the future state. You can zoom in and out of different perspectives like business, applications, data, and technology. You advise various business- and tech stakeholders on options and consequences and facilitate a clear decisioning process. You influence the short-, mid-, and long-term Business- and IT roadmaps and facilitate a continuous improvement process of the application landscape.
- Facilitate efficient architecture delivery and support the Core Banking and Transaction Services tribes and the business by providing impactful architecture on cross-domain and end-to-end complex environments.
- Work with tech- and business representatives to come to a (logical) target architecture taking requirements, ING standards, and standard solutions into account.
- Develop and maintain relevant architectural artifacts, including application architectures, architecture decisions, roadmaps, data models, and other relevant documentation.
- Support delivery of target architecture/solutions by quality decision making in close corporation with tribes, vendors & consultancies.
- Contribute to the COE Architecture organisation to improve way of working, tooling and other best practices.
- Be a trusted advisor for business, IT, and fellow architects within your expertise.
How to succeed
- A master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field/equivalent work experience.
- You have at least 5 years of experience as an IT architect or similar (IT) function.
- Domain knowledge: understanding of payments products, market standards (ISO20022, SEPA rulebooks etc) and its business processes.
- Experience in working in a highly regulated environment where we need to comply to both global and local payments regulations
- Curious mindset: you are up to date with the architecture trends, payment market development, and IT technology.
- Good understanding of architecture standards and -frameworks.
- T-shape knowledge profile, you once had a specialty but developed into a more general role over time and can zoom in and out when required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills & team player, capable of conveying complex architecture topics to various audiences ranging from business, technology and other architects.
- Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders from business and technology.
- You improve yourself constantly; and you challenge, improve and train others continuously.
- Knowledge of and hand on-experience with IT architecture methodologies, processes, service management processes and an agile work environment.
