The documentation team sits within the Product Experience Team (PXT) and is responsible for RunPod’s internal and external product documentation, API and SDK documentation, and partner documentation. We’re a mostly remote team made up of Product Managers, UX Designers, UX Writers, AL/ML Researchers, DevRel/DX Engineers, and Content Creators who are passionate about revolutionizing AI/ML development.

We’re looking for a Documentation Manager who is passionate about educating researchers and developers in the AI/ML space. This role will be critical in shaping our knowledge-sharing ecosystem, ensuring that our customers and partners have access to high-quality, accessible, and comprehensive documentation that empowers them to achieve their goals with us.

You’ll lead a team of technical writers to create a robust library of product documentation, API documentation, code samples, and reference guides. Additionally, you’ll create ways to engage with RunPod’s community and customers to source and action feedback about our documentation. Our goal is to ensure that users can onboard and utilize RunPod efficiently, and when we fall short, you’ll help us make it right.

Responsibilities:

• Build out and lead a team of technical writers, fostering their growth and expertise.
• Ensure users can get answers to their questions via product and API documentation, sample code, and conceptual guides.
• Work cross functionally with other teams at RunPod to make sure that we have the right docs and sample projects to help folks get started and stay successful.
• Understand our user personas and advocate for their needs in order to deliver great documentation
• Own and develop the long-term roadmap for user-facing and partner documentation at RunPod
• Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to style guides in all documentation produced by the team
• Contribute to the docs as needed to improve our developer experience - all managers at Runpod are expected to roll up their sleeves!

Requirements:

• Empathy. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to understand and take ownership of user pain points as if they were your own.
• 5+ years of experience in technical writing, content strategy, developer education, or a related field, with at least 2 years of management experience on a technical writing, developer relations, or content marketing team.
• An extensive portfolio of content that you’ve written, including product documentation and API/SDK documentation. Bonus: Show us content that was written for audiences of varying technical skill.
• Experience with information architecture, curriculum development, and CMS/LMS tools. (We use Docusaurus)
• Experience working cross-functionally with remote and hybrid teams.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience at an AI/ML, dev tool, or infrastructure company.
• Experience creating documentation and pages in Docusaurus.

What You’ll Receive:

• The competitive base pay for this position ranges from ($110,000 - $150,000). This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at RunPod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location
