Onshape is looking for a Technical Writing Intern to help the documentation team. As a writer, the candidate is a member of the documentation team and contributes to a dynamic and collaborative agile development environment. The documentation team provides easily consumable, technical, and conceptual information about Onshape, including detailed instructions on how to use Onshape to achieve mechanical engineering goals. The candidate will also collaborate closely with Development, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, and UX teams.

 

Intern duties can include:

• Create new and maintain existing help system material and other product documentation based on assigned tasks, and according to product release schedules.
• Ensure consistency with language, style, and formatting across all deliverables
• Learn Onshape, as part of a team and on your own
• Participate in daily huddles, attend cross-functional team meetings as necessary
• Follow development goals and sprint planning in order to create and deliver technical information and updates to existing technical information in a continuous development and delivery environment.
• Contribute to the quality of work over all team deliverables
• Collaborate closely with other teams

 

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Technical writing and content editing
• Software and coding skills, such as GitHub, MadCap Flare, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated average hourly rate for this position is $32/hour.  This rate reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's major, degree currently being pursued and location.
