Hunter Industries is seeking a temporary Document Control Analyst I who performs detailed work to develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and item master data, and implements change orders within the corporate MRP system and other databases as required. Ensures the accuracy and consistency of data across all systems. Collaborates closely with document control and data configuration colleagues to support change management processes, resolve documentation issues, and enhances overall departmental efficiency.
*This temporary assignment is expected to last for a the rest of the calendar year, but may be shortened based on business needs.
*The role is performed remotely from a home office, with periodic office visits required. As such, applicants should reside within a commutable distance of our San Marcos, California headquarters.
Essential Functions:
- Performs and maintains MRP item master data entries including part numbers and descriptions, classification codes, and branch information ensuring data accuracy, consistency and alignment with change order (CO) processes and Document and Data Configuration (DDC) standards.
- Implement change order requests including Bill of Materials (BOMs), routings, work centers, and unit of weights and measures into the MRP system.
- With guidance, reviews and interprets data from change orders, emails, and item maintenance records to assess and ensure accurate processing into the MRP system.
- Actively collaborates with team members, document originators, and cross functional departments to ensure accurate documentation, resolve data conflicts, and track issues to resolution.
- Performs standard cost roll ups based on BOM and routing updates, and collaborate with finance to close out cost related activities
- Assigns GTIN numbers (barcodes), adhering to established naming conventions and standards.
- Reviews, processes and responds to non-CO requests, including data entry for country of origin, unit of measure, material request, finance code changes, and other relevant code changes.
- Regularly updates status tracking reports.
- Offers essential support to team members and internal customers by assisting with questions and issues related to change management processes.
- Collaborates with the DDC team, providing back up support as needed.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve departmental effectiveness.
- Performs and completes various special projects as required.
Education/Training Required and Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent education, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience Required and Preferred:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a data entry and operations supporting and working with document control. Manufacturing or engineering environment experience, as well as MRP/ERP system knowledge preferred.
What You Bring:
- Understanding of the role of Document Management and Change Control as it pertains to Configuration Management.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate with groups throughout the company.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to track multiple processes through various stages.
- Ability to work as a team member and maintain day to day activates while being responsive changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
- Typing speed of at least 30-40 wpm with minimal errors.

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $23.00 - $24.50
