The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations manufacturing facility, overseeing Production and Logistics teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of DTPS projects.This role is responsible for driving operational performance. The Plant Manager works closely with Engineering & Design, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure projects move efficiently through the manufacturing process and are delivered on time to customers.The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads while fostering a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, operational excellence, and employee development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Operational Leadership

    • Lead daily manufacturing and logistics operations within the facility.
    • Ensure production schedules and shipping commitments are achieved safely and efficiently.
    • Monitor workflow, staffing, and operational priorities to support project execution goals.
    • Drive accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance across operational teams.
    • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering & Design, Supply Chain, and Quality to support production execution and customer delivery requirements.
    • Assist in resolving operational bottlenecks, production delays, material constraints, and workflow challenges.
    • Support production planning and labor allocation to meet operational demands.

      Team Leadership & Workforce Development

      • Lead, coach, and develop Production and Logistics leadership teams including Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads.
      • Promote a positive and accountable team culture focused on communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
      • Support employee development, training, and performance management initiatives.
      • Partner with HR/Talent teams on staffing, workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development efforts.
      • Reinforce company values, safety expectations, and operational standards throughout the facility.

        Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

        • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
        • Partner with Quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and improve operational performance.
        • Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities for increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved throughput.
        • Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives across Production and Logistics functions.
        • Ensure adherence to established operational procedures and manufacturing standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial operations environments. 
    • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing production, manufacturing, or logistics teams.
    • Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel fabrication, modular construction, or substation/power delivery industries preferred.
    • Experience leading teams in fast-paced, project-driven manufacturing environments preferred.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and logistics coordination.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency practices. 
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational accountability.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to build relationships across departments and operational teams.
    • Results-driven mindset with strong attention to safety, quality, and execution.

Skills Required
