YOUR NEW ROLE

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges, and goals, ensuring alignment with technical strategies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive technical solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. This often involves designing cloud architectures, microservices, or event-driven systems
• Assess existing systems, recommend new technologies, and oversee the integration of tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Create clear and detailed documentation for architectural designs, including flow diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment processes.
• Act as a bridge between business teams and technical teams, ensuring all parties are aligned on project objectives and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices. This could include compliance frameworks like SOX, GDPR, or other specific regulations.
• Address technical challenges by evaluating risks and proposing effective solutions that meet organizational needs.
• Guide and mentor development teams, fostering productivity, innovation, and adherence to architectural standards

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 20+ years in architecture, including a minimum of 5 as an end-to-end solution architect.
• 3+ years in commercial lending
• 5+ years in banking, preferably commercial / corporate banking.

• Development of solutions involving specialized lending products e.g., Equipment / Asset finance, leasing, structured lending, invoice finance, commercial real estate, term loans, market-linked loans.
• Exposure to product origination, credit decisioning, collateral management, pricing.
• Cloud architecture, particularly on Azure.
• Microservices architecture
• More than one legacy transformation project, including mainframes and legacy monoliths to microservice architecture.
• Implementation or maintenance of the following technologies: Microsoft dotNet, C#, COBOL mainframes, IBM MQ series, Java springboot, React, node.js, Serverless (containers)
• Loan Management Systems & ledgers
• Integration architecture, particularly RESTful APIs & events (esp. using Kafka)

Desirable

• Leading architects in legacy transformation projects
• Leading architects in large COTS (including SaaS) implementations
• Designing high availability, resilient, secure architectures involving SaaS products and public cloud hosted solutions in highly regulated environments
• Designing solutions across multiple cloud providers.
• Implementing architectures compliant with APRA Prudential standards e.g., CPS220, CPS232, CPS230.
• Exposure to Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) standards
• Data architecture, data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, reporting

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science / information systems or equivalent technical qualification
• Architecture or technology related certifications / cloud will be an advantage
• Business acumen in banking / financial services industry will be an advantage
