Director of Health and Wellness (DHW)

This position is for our Moll Berczy Haus and McNicoll Manor retirement homes, located in 1020 McNicoll Avenue, 4th and 5th Floor, Scarborough, Ontario
What you’ll be doing
- Work with the Executive Director and departmental managers to maximize resident satisfaction.
- Participate in Care Conferences, complete all resident assessments and develop service plans.
- Effectively manage a team of people, health care records, resident care and monitoring department financials.
- Take a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring, and filling in as required. Oversee and supervise medication administration, delivery of services and clinical programs.
- Follow all relevant Extendicare, Provincial and Federal Acts and Regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the community residents and family members, employees, and managers along with the regional support team and agencies.
What you bring
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse from the applicable provincial professional regulatory body
- Degree or Diploma
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience and one (1) year of leadership experience
- Union Management Experience (where the residence is unionized)
- Current C.P.R. and First Aid designation required
- Above average computer skills

- Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
