The Director – Viaduct, Stations & Tunnels (VST) Implementation is responsible for leading the client-side delivery of all metro civil infrastructure works, including viaducts, stations, tunnels, shafts, portals, and associated structures. The role provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and integrated delivery of the Metro programme, while managing complex interfaces with contractors, government authorities, utilities, developers, and operational stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead delivery of all VST civil infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Oversee contractor performance, construction progress, risk management, and change control.
- Manage interfaces between civil works, systems, rolling stock, utilities, existing infrastructure, and third-party stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with government entities, regulatory authorities, utility providers, and developers.
- Ensure construction delivery aligns with approved designs, operational requirements, and asset handover objectives.
- Drive resolution of technical, contractual, stakeholder, and construction-related issues.
- Support testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and transition into operations.
- Provide executive reporting, governance, and strategic decision-making support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in major infrastructure delivery, including 15 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience delivering metro, railway, or major transportation infrastructure projects, including stations, tunnels, and elevated structures.
- Experience working within the Middle East region.
- Strong expertise in programme delivery, interface management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and contract administration.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
- Experience in client-side leadership roles and mega-projects exceeding USD 4 billion is highly desirable.
