Are you ready to make your impact?

About The Role

In our Transactions practice, we work on transactions with typically a deal value between EUR 5m and EUR 150m with a motivated, experienced and hands-on team. The backbone of our services are buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence services. In addition, we have experts advising companies on Commercial, Operational and HR matters and Tax services. We work for both private equity and mid-sized corporates, where we can make a real difference with our pragmatic approach, 'analysis – advise – execute' and experienced entrepreneurial professionals. In addition to Transactions, we provide Turnaround and Transformation services to clients with our team at FTI Consulting in the Netherlands.

Our Amsterdam office has a very entrepreneurial and hands-on culture, as we originated from acquiring BOLD, a Dutch-based boutique consultancy.  Becoming part of FTI means we now have access to the breadth and depth of the global FTI Consulting network containing the world’s leading (industry) experts.

On the back of these developments, our Transactions practice is growing rapidly and has developed on multiple levels, such as number of deals, deal size and cross-border deals. We are actively expanding our international focus with our US colleagues and UK colleagues, both serving the mid-and upper M&A market. To strengthen the leadership within the Transaction practice, we are searching for a Director/Senior Director with a background in financial due diligence and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Do you feel like a fish in the water in mapping out a company and understanding figures and business models in a short timeframe and in changing team compositions? Are you looking for variety, broadening your financial experience and do you want to be deployed on varied projects as a financial professional? Do you enjoy not just advising from the sidelines, but really stepping into the field to help the customer understand opportunities and risks around a proposed transaction? Then we are looking for you!

What You’ll Do

  • Take overall lead responsibility for delivering mid-size complex projects, directly liaising with the Partner, or manage standalone divisions/sections of Financial Due Diligence (FDD) on larger projects (including buy-side or sell-side transactions, refinancing, financial restructuring, and equity raising).
  • Supervise and mentor Consultants, ensuring thorough review of their analyses and sections, and take full accountability for their deliverables.
  • Participate of the business development efforts, maintaining regular client catch-ups, identifying target opportunities, and staying informed about industry trends and M&A developments.
  • Foster effective communication with senior team members and clients.
  • Proactively build and nurture internal and external relationships.
  • Analyze the financial performance of acquisition targets, considering both past performance and future potential.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the business model and key value drivers of the company being evaluated.
  • Take overall responsibility for delivering due diligence projects, with support from the Senior Managing Director, or manage standalone sections within larger due diligence projects.
  • Proactively develop and sustain internal and external relationships to foster long-term business growth.

How You’ll Grow

We are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities. We aim to promote continuous learning and individual skills development through on-the-job learning, self-guided professional development courses and certifications. You’ll be assigned a dedicated coach to mentor, guide and support you through regular coaching sessions and serve as an advocate for your professional growth.

As you progress through your career at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to ensure you are prepared and empowered to take on your next role.
