Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate with external vendors and internal data governance, legal, and procurement teams to manage third-party data contracts and acquisition processes. Responsibilities include documentation of current third-party data asset utilization, contract negotiations with data vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions, and ensuring third-party data acquisition practices adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.  You will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of third-party data, managing third-party vendor relationships, leading contract reviews and negotiations, and ensuring that our data acquisition strategies align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and acquire third-party data sources that align with company needs and objectives.
  • Create inventories of non-purchased third-party data assets (open source and publicly available data sets) and of purchased third-party data assets.
  • Develop and maintain master third party data asset directory to track and budget contract renewal dates, data characteristics, and business owner attribution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external data vendors serving as the primary point of contact for vendor-related issues and resolution facilitation.
  • Complete market research to identify new data assets that will maximize value to our members.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning around analytic solution roadmaps.
  • Monitor internal data usage to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular audits of third-party data sources to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Develop third party data usage guides for internal knowledge training.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail required.
  • Proven experience with data privacy regulations and best practices required.
  • Strong project management skills, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
  • Experience managing third party data vendors preferred.
  • Knowledge/understanding of legal contracts preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau).

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $168,800.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
