We are seeking a motivated candidate for the role of Director of Technical Accounting. This role will support the global accounting policy and technical resolution activities for World Kinect Corporation. This position reports to the VP of Technical Accounting and Compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Research and document complex technical accounting issues under US GAAP for our consolidated financial statements and other GAAPs for our statutory filings.
- Provide support for complex transactions and new business initiatives.
- Monitor and support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
- Support the modernization of existing global accounting policies and procedures.
- Support annual goodwill testing.
- Prepare and present training to employees on certain complex technical accounting areas
- Work with internal and external auditors to answer all necessary questions in connection with their audits.
- Support due diligence processes and the purchase price allocation.
- Support the Statutory team in discussions with our auditors related to complex transactions and its impact to the financial statements of our subsidiaries.
Qualifications
- CPA required. Required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the resolution of technical accounting matters of large publicly traded companies and/or National Office’s SEC Services Group at one of the "Big 4". Required.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting. Required.
- Proven knowledge of on key accounting standards including, but not limited to, business combinations, fair value measures, revenue recognition, leases, consolidation, impairment assessments, transfer of financial assets and derivatives. Required.
- Strong leadership skills to assist in the alignment of a global cross functional team. Required.
- Experience with SOX 404 and internal control over financial reporting. Required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Very organized and able to think and build a long-term strategy.
Location: Miami or remote within US.
Availability to travel to Miami or other locations when needed.
