Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future
The Role

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!

The Role

We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Director of Supply Chain to lead procurement and supplier development efforts across a growing multi-site manufacturing footprint in the aerospace and defense industry. This leader will own supplier identification and development, large-scale contract aggregation, raw material and outside processing procurement, and the supply chain build-out for a new manufacturing site.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in metals procurement, supplier capability development, and cross-functional collaboration—ensuring the supply base is capable, scalable, and aligned with both internal production and customer expectations.  This is a founding member of our global supply chain team and will be expected to build out our purchasing and procurement processes.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

    • Lead procurement of raw materials (metals, forgings, castings, inserts etc.) outside services (e.g.heat treating, coatings, NDT, assembly), and indirect spend across factory network

    • Drive strategic, consolidated buys across the enterprise to maximize leverage and cost efficiency.

    • Negotiate and manage large, long-term contracts focused on value creation, risk mitigation, and supplier performance.

  • Supplier Development & Capability Expansion

    • Design and launch the supply chain infrastructure for a new manufacturing site, ensuring material and service readiness for operational startup.

    • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers, with a focus on developing capabilities that align with evolving customer requirements.

    • Evaluate supplier capacity, scalability, and readiness to support both ongoing production and future demand.

    • Foster long-term relationships with critical suppliers to drive industry leading cost, quality, and lead time performance.

  • Inventory Ownership & Demand Alignment

    • Own company-wide inventory strategy for procured materials and services, balancing working capital goals with production continuity.

    • Implement and manage strategic stock programs, VMI, and consignment where appropriate.

    • Collaborate with Operations and Planning teams to ensure supply availability aligns with manufacturing schedules and customer delivery requirements.

  • Risk Management & Compliance

    • Monitor and mitigate risks across the supply base, including single-sourcing, geopolitical impacts, quality/compliance issues, and capacity constraints.

    • Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to ITAR, DFARS, and applicable industry/customer standards (e.g., AS9100).

    • Develop and implement key supply chain standards and procedures to drive consistency, efficiency, and scalability across procurement, logistics, and inventory management functions.

  • Collaboration & Leadership

    • Act as the primary procurement interface with internal stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Quality, and Program Management.

    • Report on KPIs, supplier performance, cost savings, and key sourcing initiatives to senior leadership.

    • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team capable of scaling with the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic procurement and supply chain leadership, with a strong focus on aerospace/defense materials and services

  • Deep knowledge of raw materials and outside processing

  • Demonstrated success in supplier development, capacity evaluation, and capability expansion

  • Proven ability to drive consolidated buying strategies and inventory optimization

  • Familiarity with ITAR, DFARS, AS9100, and other defense industry compliance frameworks

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Willingness to travel as needed to supplier and factory sites

Benefits

  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA

  • Flexible vacation policy
