Role Summary:

The Director, Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for building and running procurement and strategy across the Canopy A&D platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role owns procurement strategy across Canopy A&D's operating companies, leads and develops Procurement teams at each entity, and is directly accountable for driving inventory cost savings and reducing material and consumable supplier risk platform-wide. This is a highly visible, newly established role. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who can build a standardized function from the ground up while managing a distributed team across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and own procurement strategy and implementation across the platform.
  • Lead and develop Procurement teams at each operating company, building a standardized, high-performing procurement function across the platform.
  • Drive inventory cost savings through aggregated buying power, supplier consolidation, and platform-wide strategic sourcing agreements.
  • Reduce material and consumable supplier risk by identifying single and dual-source exposure, qualifying alternate suppliers, and building supplier business continuity plans.
  • Standardize procurement configuration and process within the Epicor ERP system.
  • Own and report KPIs to platform leadership.
  • Partner with Planning and Production functions to ensure procurement decisions are grounded in accurate, aggregated demand signals.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with applicable government contracting, export control, and quality requirements, including FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and AS9100.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to control total cost of ownership and protect delivery schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8-12 years in , procurement, or strategic sourcing leadership, preferably within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience scaling and developing a team of procurement managers across multiple sites
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced level of Microsoft Excel
  • Track record of driving measurable inventory or cost savings
  • Experience presenting performance and strategy directly to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in management, Business, or a related field
  • APICS/CPSM, CSCP, or similar certification
  • Experience working within A&D or similarly regulated industries (AS9100, ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFARS)
  • Prior experience in a private-equity-backed or multi-entity platform environment with evolving systems and processes
  • Experience designing or implementing min/max or just-in-time inventory replenishment strategies
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic or a comparable ERP platform's Purchasing and Planning modules

Additional Requirements

  • Must have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Willingness to work long hours and travel as needed to meet critical sourcing and supplier deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to supplier facilities and other Canopy A&D sites as needed
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-changing situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups in person, by phone, and online, including with senior executives

Job Details

    Type: Full Time, Exempt (Salaried)

    Base Salary Range: $170,000 to $205,000

    Business Hours: Core Business Hours

    Base Location: Irvine, CA — Full Time, On-Site

    Travel: As needed to various company and supplier facilities

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.

EXPORT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to US Government export regulations, the applicant must be a (i) US Citizen, (ii) lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (aka green card holder), (iii) protected individual as defined by U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or (iv) eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
