Summary The Director of Software Engineering is a senior leadership role within the enterprise technology organization responsible for directing software engineering teams and enterprise technology initiatives that support CDW's strategic business objectives. The role provides organizational leadership across multiple engineering teams, establishes development standards and frameworks, and oversees the delivery of large-scale digital transformation programs. The position focuses on managing engineering managers and professional teams, defining technology strategy, and ensuring successful delivery of enterprise platforms aligned with business priorities. Key Areas of Responsibility • Act as a thought leader for CDW Technology and the Software Engineering function, guiding enterprise engineering strategy, governance frameworks, and best practices across multiple technology domains. • Provide strategic leadership for enterprise software engineering initiatives supporting core business platforms including Salesforce CRM, Order Management, Warehouse Management Systems, and associated supply chain and fulfillment workflows that enable CDW's end-to-end digital commerce and operational capabilities. • Lead a large engineering organization consisting of 150+ technology professionals, including multiple engineering managers who directly supervise teams of software engineers, architects, and technical specialists, responsible for delivering enterprise applications, modernization programs, and digital transformation initiatives. • Work closely with senior business stakeholders and technology leaders on product strategy, enterprise architecture, technical design, and multi-year delivery roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives and technology transformation priorities. • Lead and manage engineering managers and professional software development teams responsible for application delivery, ensuring effective organizational structure, leadership alignment, resource planning, and performance management across multiple engineering teams. • Oversee the planning and execution of a large enterprise technology portfolio, including Order-to-Cash and fulfillment technology programs, ensuring effective resource allocation, program governance, risk management, and milestone delivery across distributed engineering teams. • Mentor engineering leaders and teams deliver high-quality solutions using best-in-class architecture, development, DevOps, and quality engineering practices, while building leadership capability across the engineering organization. • Leverage emerging AI, automation, and cloud-native technologies to improve engineering productivity, Pay range: $200000 - $25000, depending on experience and skill set Benefits overview: https://cdw.benefit-info.com/ Salary ranges may be subject to geographic differentials accelerate solution delivery, and drive innovation across enterprise platforms and digital products. • Provide leadership for security, compliance, and enterprise governance initiatives, ensuring engineering practices align with corporate security standards, regulatory requirements, and operational risk management frameworks. • Lead organizational development initiatives including hiring, leadership mentoring, performance management, and succession planning for engineering managers and senior technical professionals, ensuring strong leadership depth and scalable engineering capability. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or business. • 15+ years in enterprise software development environments. • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience managing engineering teams and large technology programs. • Experience envisioning and delivering large transformation programs that significantly impact the organization's strategy. • Experience with DevOps, Secure development, and QA Automation best practices in an Agile environment • Cloud native development experience is a plus
