Make Your Mark:
As the Director of Engineering for Studio 360, you will be the visionary leader at the heart of one of BlackLine's most strategic products. You will own the technical strategy and execution for Studio 360, championing engineering excellence and managing KPIs for quality, predictability, flow, and velocity to deliver robust, high-quality features that define the future of financial automation.

Your influence will extend beyond just the technical execution. You will act as a key strategic partner to product management, design, and other business leaders to define and align on the long-term vision and roadmap for Studio 360. A core part of your mission will be to develop the next generation of engineering talent, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and ownership. You'll Get To:
Experience• 16 or more years of relevant industry experience.• Significant tenure with a US product company with experience in global engineering practices.• 8 or more years of experience in managing software engineering teams, internal infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed computing infrastructure.• 3 or more years of direct Engineering Management or DevOps, with hands-on leadership experience, including continuous builds and deployments, continuous integration, log collection and analysis, performance monitoring and tuning, as well as security.• 5 or more years of direct experience in Agile Methodologies, processes, and best practices.• 7 or more years of recent experience in supervisory positions, directing and managing employees either directly or through subordinate management staff.• Recent experience in a director-level role overseeing software engineering in large-scale organizations focused on Web Applications/SaaS.• Excellent leadership skills showing commitment, strategic foresight and planning, integrity, and moving the team and organization towards continual success.• Highly communicative leader who can reduce inefficiencies and ensure clarity.• Proven ability to mentor leaders within the organization to create additional leadership opportunities for staff, as well as allowing the ability to separate tactical vs. strategic thinkers.• Prior hands-on technical experience with C# (preferred), C++, Java, Python, Go, or equivalent languages.• Previous development experience and extensive knowledge of following: C#.ASP .NET, Node, JavaScript, MSSQL, performance optimization and tuning• A minimum of 5 years of experience with a significant subset of the following technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP/REST, Node, JavaScript, IIS, MSSQL, ADFS, PowerShell, WMI, Java, Apache, Tomcat, SSL, Go• Experience working with distributed "big data" technologies and providers, as well asMachine Learning/AI technologies and providers.• Understanding of clustering, load balancing, and web caching technologies (e.g., CDN, Memcached)• Hands-on experience with modern source code versioning tools (e.g., git, mercurial)
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
We're Even More Excited If You Have:• Significant experience with modern open-source platforms and technologies, as well as
development methodologies and processes.• Proven track record of architecting, developing, implementing robust, distributed
online solutions successfully.• Master's degree in computer science or related discipline• Experience in guiding teams through Agile Transformations• Experience working with and developing on major Cloud providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)• Experience in Cloud Transformation initiatives• Must have the ability to drive to success with passion, compassion, and empathy.

• Passionate about SRE and implementing high performance SRE teams that deliver on Availability, Metrics and Scalability needs of our customers and engineering partners.
• Empathy for working with support teams to identify and remedy pain points.
• Expertise in reliable and repeatable web application deployment and architecture.
• Proven track record of building and managing high performing SRE organizations and teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
• Strong ownership, pride of work, and ability to take things across the finish line. Someone can see around corners and who finishes well.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Manage on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
• Strong intra team and cross functional collaboration skills.
• 10+ years industry experience and 5+ years in a managerial role.
• 5+ years of experience leading an SRE or equivalent team
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Prior C#, ASP.NET, Python, Go or Java development experience, preferably in an agile SaaS environment.

Salary Range:
USD $257,000.00/Yr. - USD $322,000.00/Yr.
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
