Full Stack Software Engineer – HIMCO IT (Hartford India)
Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join HIMCO IT. This role will support a wide range of technology initiatives across investment, data, and shared platforms, with a strong focus on application modernization and cloud transformation.
You will partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that improve efficiency, enhance data access, and support investment decision-making.
This is a highly dynamic role where engineers will move across projects and domains, contributing to both new development and modernization of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications across web, data, and service-based architectures using .NET/C#, React, and Python
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven workflows to support investment operations and data distribution
- Build and optimize Snowflake-based analytics pipelines and Power BI reporting solutions for investment teams
- Integrate vendor platforms (e.g., market data providers, order management systems) with internal systems and data pipelines
- Re-platform and modernize legacy systems to AWS cloud-native solutions (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS), including migration of SSIS-based ETL workflows to scalable alternatives
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to clarify requirements and deliver solutions
- Participate in Agile delivery, including design, estimation, and implementation
- Apply AI-assisted development and DevOps best practices
- Ensure code quality, testing, and deployment standards are met
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and performance issues
Technology Environment
You will work across a modern and evolving HIMCO technology stack:
- Languages & Frameworks: C#, .NET / ASP.NET (Core & MVC), Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS , OOP
- Cloud & Platforms: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS), containerized and cloud-native architectures
- Databases & Data Platforms: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake
- Architecture & Integration: RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven systems
- Data Processing: SSIS and batch data processing pipelines
- DevOps & Tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions (CI/CD), Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), Visual Studio.
- Scheduling & Automation: CA AutoSys, automated release and deployment pipelines
- Analytics & Reporting: Snowflake, Power BI and API-driven data solutions
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing applications using .NET / C# and relational databases
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills
- Experience building APIs and service-based architectures
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud migration or application modernization initiatives
- Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native patterns
- Experience with Python or data engineering workflows
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as SSIS
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
- Exposure to financial services or investment domain
