Job Description:

Our Site Reliability Engineering group within Enterprise Infrastructure combines Operations Excellence with the Development Experience to deliver services at high scale, high availability with resilience by using automation and Infrastructure Code. We build reliability into our ecosystem by applying standard methodologies in Resiliency Engineering, Automation, Observability & Chaos Testing.

The team comes from diverse technical backgrounds, and the responsibilities provide the opportunity for a variety of challenges. Ideal candidates will have a background in either software engineering or systems engineering with a desire to learn the other or previous experience as an SRE. We are looking for a Systems Thinking, SRE Leader who has helped teams scale through production insights, operational automation, developer mentorship, real-time metrics, automation, automation, automation!

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Lead Development Team: Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring collaboration, productivity, and adherence to best practices.

  • Chaos & Performance Engineering Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge in chaos engineering tools and frameworks, along with performance testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks, to guide improvements in both platforms.

  • Inner Source Advocacy: Champion the adoption and adherence to inner source models, fostering open collaboration, code reusability, and shared ownership within the development teams.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with development teams across SRE and partner business units (BUs) to ensure successful integration of features and alignment with business needs.

  • Define Roadmaps: Collaborate with stakeholders to define, develop, and execute the roadmap for both Chaos Buffet and RushHour.

  • Feature Review & Development: Prioritize, review, and contribute to new feature development, ensuring alignment with product goals and strong inner source principles.

  • Ensure Code Quality: Promote high standards in coding practices, ensuring proper testing, continuous integration, and delivery practices are followed.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all feature-related discussions, roadmap updates, and cross-team collaboration.

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Python.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chaos engineering and performance engineering, with hands-on expertise in testing tools and methodologies.

  • Proven track record of 5 years of experience working with inner source models, contributing to or leading development efforts in open collaboration environments.

  • Strong understanding of chaos engineering concepts, tools, and performance testing strategies.

  • Experience in leading a development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring team collaboration.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple global development teams across SRE and business units (BUs), ensuring alignment on goals and project execution.

  • Expertise in defining and executing roadmaps for large-scale projects.

  • Deep understanding of development best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with distributed teams and across different organizational units.
