Job Description: Director of Sales
Role Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and highly driven Director
of Sales to lead the sales function for a prestigious luxury resort in Uttarakhand. The ideal candidate should possess 8–10 years of
progressive sales experience in 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, or
premium hospitality brands, with a proven track record of driving revenue
growth, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing
and executing sales strategies, maximizing room revenue, increasing banquet and
wedding business, strengthening corporate and travel trade relationships, and
positioning the resort as a preferred luxury destination.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop
and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize room revenue,
banquet business, weddings, MICE, and leisure segments.
- Identify
new business opportunities across corporate, travel trade, destination
weddings, luxury leisure, and group bookings.
- Achieve
annual and quarterly revenue targets while maintaining profitability.
- Monitor
market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to
formulate effective sales plans.
Business Development
- Build
and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents,
tour operators, DMCs, wedding planners, and event management companies.
- Develop
strategic partnerships to increase business from domestic and
international markets.
- Conduct
regular client meetings, presentations, sales calls, and networking
events.
- Represent
the resort at trade fairs, roadshows, exhibitions, and hospitality events.
Wedding & MICE Sales
- Drive
destination wedding and large-scale event business.
- Develop
relationships with wedding planners, luxury event organizers, and
corporate event agencies.
- Collaborate
with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of events and
exceptional guest experiences.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead,
mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental
objectives.
- Establish
sales targets, monitor performance, and conduct regular reviews.
- Foster
a high-performance, customer-centric sales culture.
- Coordinate
closely with Revenue Management, Reservations, Marketing, and Operations
teams.
Client Relationship Management
- Build
long-term relationships with key accounts and repeat guests.
- Ensure
exceptional service delivery throughout the customer journey.
- Handle
VIP clients and negotiate high-value contracts.
- Resolve
client concerns promptly while maintaining the resort's reputation for
excellence.
Reporting & Market Analysis
- Prepare
sales forecasts, revenue reports, and business performance analysis.
- Monitor
key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where
necessary.
- Provide
regular business updates and strategic recommendations to senior
management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's
Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business
Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA
in Sales, Marketing, or Hospitality Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum
8–10 years of sales experience in 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, or
premium hospitality brands is mandatory.
- Proven
experience in corporate sales, destination weddings, MICE, leisure travel,
and luxury hospitality sales.
- Strong
understanding of hotel revenue management, market segmentation, and luxury
guest expectations.
