Position Specifics

  • Reporting structure: Reports into the President of Charter Wire
  • Location: Milwaukee, WI, onsite leadership opportunity
  • Travel: Up to 20%

What You’ll do

  • Strategic Planning / Marketing:
    • Develop and successfully implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve penetration and growth targets for existing and new product lines.
      Identify new product, process, and market opportunities with strong potential for profitable growth.
    • Develop, track, and maintain aggressive marketing plans to achieve penetration and growth targets for existing and new product lines. Ensure target market communication is effective, clear, and efficient.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Act as an advocate for the customer to ensure requirements are fully met including product specifications, quality, delivery, communication, etc.
    • Develop relationships at different levels within strategic accounts.
    • Seek the voice of the customer and maintain an intimate knowledge of future opportunities/changes and the state of the relationships at all key accounts.
  • Sales Management:
    • Lead the sales teams to achieve annual goals for growth and business development.
    • Work to maintain current customer base and solicit new customers through effective selling, promotion, and customer service techniques.
  • Customer Service / Sales Support:
    • Manage all customer facing activities including new business opportunities, accounts receivable, awarded business tracking, and all aspects of relationship management.
    • Conduct introductory visits and discovery sessions with potential supply partners, acquisition targets, machine manufacturers, and customers to identify new product opportunities.
    • Lead all sales teams in providing the required support to customers.
  • Pricing / Customer Profitability:
    • Price products to meet profitability objectives while balancing competitive dynamics.
    • Develop programs that ensure sustainable profitability in volatile markets.
    • Support and/or lead annual or multi-year contract negotiations at customers where these arrangements are in place.
  • Issue Resolution / Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist sales group and work cross functionally to resolve customer issues.
    • Work cross-functionally to identify, record, and initiate improvements for any problems or nonconformities relating to product, process, and the quality system.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related degree.
  • Seven plus years’ sales and marketing management experience for a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in customer facing sales.
  • Working knowledge in a related industry.
  • Proven record of success and revenue growth.
  • Experience in target setting and managing towards a long-term vision.
  • Strong cross-cultural adaptability and international business experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to motivate, manage, and develop direct reports.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated project management, strategic planning, and new market development experience/results.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or related advanced degree.
  • Two plus years’ experience in new product development, M&A, or corporate business development.
  • Knowledge of related metals manufacturing processes.
