Your role at a glance
The Director, Construction Risk and Audit is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the enterprise-wide risk management, audit, governance, and assurance programs across the Global Infrastructure Development (GID) organization. The position serves as the primary liaison between Global Infrastructure Development, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership.What we are looking for
KEY responsibilities
- Build, develop, and lead a team of risk and audit professionals responsible for construction risk, governance, compliance, and assurance activities.
- Develop and maintain the Global Infrastructure Development risk management framework.
- Establish and manage a portfolio-wide risk assessment process across all phases of the data center development life cycle.
- Develop standardized functional risk assessments for all major GID functions (may include Design, Construction, Schedule, Cost Management, Supply Chain, Commissioning, Operations)
- Evaluate internal and external risks that may impact project delivery, costs, schedules, regulatory compliance, supply chains, labor markets, utilities, financial markets, geopolitical environments, and business continuity.
- Oversee risk identification, quantification, prioritization, escalation, mitigation tracking, and closure processes.
- Ensure significant project and portfolio risks are escalated appropriately to GID leadership.
- Develop and manage Global Infrastructure Development audit and assessment programs.
- Create and implement a recurring assessment process to evaluate organizational compliance with established policies, procedures, standards, and governance requirements.
- Conduct risk-based reviews of major programs, projects, business processes, and controls.
- Coordinate all construction-related internal audits and support external audit activities.
- Track audit findings, management responses, corrective actions, and closure status.
- Identify control deficiencies and partner with business leaders to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor organizational performance against established standards and risk tolerances.
- Coordinate with Governance, Risk, Compliance on corporate requirements of Risk/ Audit programs, including insurance requirements for construction projects.
- Manage and update governance requirements in Global Authorities Matrix and Legal Contract Signing Policies.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) that support organizational risk assessment and performance evaluation.
- Create dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide visibility into risk trends, audit findings, compliance performance, corrective actions, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop and manage an enterprise lessons learned program across Global Infrastructure Development. Please use clear language and avoid using acronyms or terminology unless it has been defined.
KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Must possess a clear understanding of the full construction life cycle and be able to apply concepts to data center construction.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Capability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to develop strong systems.
- Proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft Office programs with very strong capabilities in Excel.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Cost Management, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent education and/or relevant experience. MBA is a plus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 10 years’ experience with emphasis on construction project controls, risk management, governance, audit, compliance. Data Center construction project experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
- Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
- Close visual work on a computer terminal.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Work conditions & other requirements
- Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer, thus must have high speed internet.
- This role is expected to work remote with ability to travel up to 25% to project site.
Compensation Pay Range
For roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process.
This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is:
$192,900 - $258,000All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.

Skills Required
