We are looking for: a highly motivated and experienced Director of R&D to lead a set of software engineering teams and security experts at Simspace. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple teams of engineers and a strong technical background in software development.

What will you be doing as a Director of R&D, Range Engineering at SimSpace?

  • Lead and manage teams responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our software products
  • Build and maintain the teams, ensuring they have the right skills and tools to be successful
  • Manage the expectations of internal stakeholders and collaborate to find solutions
  • Work closely with the product management team to ensure software development projects are aligned with business objectives and timelines
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure successful project execution
  • Work closely with both the Quality Engineering and Product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that meet customer needs
  • Mentor and coach manager and others, promoting their professional growth and development
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software development and cybersecurity

What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Director of R&D, Range Engineering you need:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 4 years of successfully leading and managing multiple software teams
  • Strong knowledge of software development practices, methodologies, and tools
  • Experienced software leader with a strong background in software development and architecture
  • A proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in software development
  • Constantly seeking to learn and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Excellent technical skills with the ability to understand and solve complex technical problems
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality software products that meet customer needs
  • Comfortable with agile software development methodologies and able to adapt to changing business needs
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members, promoting their professional growth and development
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting project objectives and timelines

Nice to have but not required:

  • Experience developing and deploying cutting-edge solutions for both cloud and on-premises environments
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity or Networking
