About the Role

Our Strategic Communications team in India provides our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.

As our India business grows, we are looking for experienced and driven Senior Consultant or Director to join our New Delhi team. This role sits at the heart of our public affairs practice.

The successful candidate will combine strong client service capabilities with a commercial mindset, bringing both the strategic depth to advise senior client stakeholders and the hands-on commitment to deliver high-quality work. You will play a meaningful role in shaping the firm's India strategy, contributing to business development, and helping to build and mentor a talented team.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who is mature, empathetic, results-oriented, and collaborative — someone who is as comfortable leading client engagements as they are working alongside colleagues across India, Asia, and globally. If you are an enthusiastic learner who wants to apply innovative approaches to communications within a leading global consultancy and build an international career, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Day-to-day management of public affairs and strategic communications client accounts, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality counsel and outputs.

  • Play an active role in building and expanding FTI Consulting's public affairs practice in India as part of a highly motivated team.

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute the firm's India growth strategy, reinforcing New Delhi's position within FTI's global network.

  • Contribute meaningfully to the firm's strategic direction in the Indian market, drawing on deep knowledge of the country's political, regulatory, business, and economic landscape.

  • Support business development efforts with a focus on public affairs and strategic communications, including the development of proposals, pitches, and client strategies.

  • Represent the New Delhi office in marketing and promotional activities across India and the broader Asia region.

  • Lead the creation of compelling, high-quality written materials for business development and client engagement purposes.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning, excellence, and collaboration.

How You’ll Grow

FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications practice offers an intellectually stimulating, international environment where ambition is recognised and rewarded. You will have the autonomy to shape your own career path in line with your professional interests and the growth of the business.

Those who proactively seek challenging assignments, deliver outstanding client service, and take initiative in building the business will find themselves on an accelerated growth trajectory. High-performance behaviour - including new business prospecting, trusted advisory relationships with senior clients, and fostering team cohesion — are actively tracked and recognised as indicators of leadership potential.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

  • A university degree or higher in a relevant discipline.

  • A strong track record of delivering public affairs consultancy for local and international clients.

  • Director-level candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered for the Senior Consultant position.

  • Demonstrated new business development skills, including the ability to develop strategies, proposals, and client presentations.

  • Experience in risk and issues management, crisis communications, and/or policy advocacy is highly desirable.

  • Excellent presentation, written communication, and project management skills.

  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment under pressure.

  • A collaborative, collegiate approach to working within a diverse team across India, Asia, and globally.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites and FTI regional offices as required.

  • Participate in regional and global meetings that may fall outside standard working hours.
