JOB SUMMARY:
The PMO Director will establish oversight of existing CDI opportunities, assess current project management capabilities, and implement the processes, tools, and governance needed to support successful execution. The Director will develop and execute the roadmap for the CDI PMO, building the organizational capabilities, systems, and team required to support long-term business growth and innovation. This role will implement standardized project management methodologies, governance frameworks, resource planning, portfolio reporting, and performance management to ensure strategic initiatives are delivered consistently and effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
PMO Strategy & Governance – 40%

Establish and lead the CDI Project Management Office (PMO), providing governance across all strategic initiatives, including new business development and new product development.

Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, governance processes, stage-gate requirements, templates, and best practices.

Create portfolio management processes that provide executive visibility into project health, risks, priorities, resource utilization, and strategic alignment.

Develop executive dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project execution, portfolio performance, and organizational effectiveness.

Lead portfolio governance meetings and provide recommendations to executive leadership regarding project prioritization, funding, and resource allocation.

Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and organizational capabilities.
Strategic Portfolio Management – 35%

Provide executive oversight for CDI strategic initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and corporate strategy.

Partner with Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functional leaders to coordinate cross-functional execution.

Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, issue resolution, and change management across the project portfolio.

Ensure adherence to established governance processes, development methodologies, and organizational standards.

Monitor project performance and proactively address execution risks to improve delivery outcomes.
Organizational Capability & PMO Development – 25%

Develop and execute the long-term vision, organizational structure, and operating model for the CDI PMO.

Evaluate organizational capabilities and identify opportunities to improve project management maturity through enhanced processes, technology, reporting, and talent development.

Recommend staffing models, resource requirements, and technology investments to support the growth of the PMO.

Mentor project managers and cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Systems, Aerospace, Civil, or related discipline), Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is required.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible project, program, or portfolio management experience within manufacturing, engineering, product development, or industrial environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing project teams, programs, portfolios, or a Project Management Office.
- Demonstrated experience establishing or transforming PMO organizations, governance frameworks, and portfolio management processes.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, portfolio governance, resource planning, and organizational change management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree (MBA, Engineering Management, or related discipline).
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience leading enterprise Project Management Offices in manufacturing or product development organizations.
- Experience implementing project portfolio management (PPM) software and reporting solutions.
- Demonstrated success driving strategic initiatives across multiple business functions.
- Strong executive communication, organizational leadership, and change management experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
• Office environment with daily exposure to the manufacturing floor.
• Some exposure to possible shop hazards including high noise and heavy machinery.
