We are looking for a Program Specialist to oversee external engagement and strategic communications for our client. This position will be full-time contract and onsite.
What You'll Do
Develop and lead high-impact external affairs initiatives aligned with the agency's mission
Establish and monitor KPIs and strategic goals for public engagement
Interpret and communicate civil rights laws to stakeholders
Represent ICRC’s interests on management committees and public forums
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance oversight of staff related to public programming
Design and execute communication strategies across media channels
Oversee agency websites and manage content calendars
Evaluate and optimize communication strategies and materials
Craft speeches, presentations, and press releases for executive leadership
Advise on media relations and crisis communication
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Strong understanding of civil rights policy and public affairs strategy
Expertise in strategic communication and media relations
Preferred:
Leadership experience in managing staff and internal/external projects
Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
