ROLE TITLE: Director, Program (Full-Time) 

POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief Program Officer

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are looking for a candidate who will lead school partnerships and educator development to strengthen instructional impact across Indianapolis. As the city shifts toward a new accountability model focused on student growth and readiness, you will ensure Teach For America’s programming aligns to these priorities and drives measurable academic outcomes. 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about instructional leadership and systems impact with the ability to build strong school and community partnerships, design high-quality teacher development, and support corps members across differentiated licensure pathways. You will play a key role in positioning TFA Indy as an instructional leader and partner in the local education ecosystem. 

The goal of this role is to improve student outcomes by strengthening school partnerships and delivering aligned, high-quality educator development. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

  • Build and manage partnerships with schools and districts to support corps member placement and student outcomes (20%)  

  • Design and deliver educator development aligned to TFA priorities, LEARN Academies, and Indiana’s accountability model (20%)  

  • Manage differentiated licensure pathways, including Transition to Teaching and other certification routes (20%)  

  • Design and create a set of experiences to guide the full spectrum of corps member experience from recruitment through alumni induction (20%).  

  • Build and engage a coalition of school, community, and ecosystem partners to expand impact (20%) 

A WEEK IN THE LIFE
In a typical week, you might meet with school leaders to align on instructional priorities, design or facilitate professional learning aligned to LEARN Academies, and support corps members navigating licensure requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure coherence across programming and engage external partners to strengthen alignment with citywide goals. You will also review data on teacher and student outcomes to refine program strategy. 

YOUR EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3+ years of experience in education 

  • Strong understanding of instructional practice and teacher development  

  • Experience building and managing external partnerships  

  • Ability to align programming to standards or accountability systems  

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills  

  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends  

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in program leadership or partnerships 

  • Familiarity with Teach For America’s model and ways of working  

  • Familiarity with Indiana education systems or accountability frameworks  

  • Experience with teacher licensure pathways (e.g., Transition to Teaching)  

  • Experience designing and facilitating adult learning 

YOUR FUTURE TEAM 

You will join a program team responsible for supporting corps members and partner schools to achieve strong academic outcomes. The team operates at the intersection of instruction, partnerships, and leadership development, with a focus on aligning programming to regional priorities. Together, the team is working to position Teach For America Indianapolis as an instructional leader and systems partner in the city.
 
 

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future. 

Tier A: $74,300 - 97,500

Tier B: $81,000 - 106,300

Tier C: $87,600 - 115,000
