About the role

We’re looking for a strategic and operational leader to help drive growth across Crunchyroll’s Global Commerce business. As Strategy & Operations Director, Global Commerce, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Vice President of Global Commerce and Vice President of Strategy & Development, helping shape priorities, accelerate execution, and support decision-making across a diverse portfolio that includes consumer products, retail partnerships, licensing, apparel, home goods, theatrical, and emerging business opportunities.

Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Development, this role sits at the center of the Global Commerce organization. You’ll help evaluate new opportunities, drive critical initiatives, improve organizational effectiveness, and ensure strategic priorities translate into measurable business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong business judgment, commercial acumen, and analytical rigor with the ability to operate effectively across both strategy and execution.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic priorities across the Global Commerce organization
  • Evaluate business opportunities, growth initiatives, partnerships, and investments through quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Conduct market, consumer, competitive, and industry research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Build business cases, strategic recommendations, and decision frameworks to support executive decision-making
  • Drive high-priority cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation
  • Develop operating mechanisms, project plans, milestones, and governance structures that improve organizational effectiveness
  • Coordinate stakeholders across multiple functions to drive alignment, accountability, and execution
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, and proactively develop solutions to maintain momentum
  • Develop executive presentations, briefing materials, communications, and strategic narratives for internal and external audiences
  • Translate complex business topics into clear, concise, and compelling recommendations and stories
  • Support leadership planning processes, business reviews, offsites, and organizational operating rhythms
  • Serve as a thought partner to leadership by helping structure ambiguous problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and refine strategic direction
  • Build analyses, models, and insights that inform commercial, operational, and organizational decisions
  • Support special projects and emerging priorities across the Global Commerce portfolio

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Dallas office

About You
  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting, corporate development, chief of staff, commercial strategy, or related functions, including experience within consumer products, retail, licensing, merchandising, entertainment, media, gaming, apparel, home goods, or comparable consumer-facing industries.
  • Experience supporting senior executives and operating effectively in highly visible, fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of retail partnerships, consumer products commercialization, category management, product development, licensing, distribution, or go-to-market strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities, growth initiatives, and commercial strategies across physical products, retail channels, and partnership ecosystems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation development skills, including experience creating materials for senior leadership, boards, or external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong project management capabilities with a track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • High degree of ownership, discretion, judgment, and accountability
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without authority, and balance strategic thinking with operational execution
  • Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated understanding of consumer behavior, retail dynamics, and market trends
