The Director, Product Owner is responsible for leading the vision and managing and executing the strategic product roadmap of the Firm’s global Salesforce Sales Cloud and other Salesforce integrated solutions. The Product Owner will act as a voice of the end-user, representing the needs of all Salesforce Personae to identify, create, document and prioritize user stories in the product backlog. The Product Owner serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams and is ultimately responsible for ensuring Salesforce delivers measurable value across Ryan’s global organization.

This role is primarily remote but requires the individual to be based in the Plano, TX area and available to work onsite as needed. Additional onsite presence may be expected during the initial onboarding period.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

People:

  • Drive an integrated team member experience for all personae across the Salesforce ecosystem in alignment with corporate strategic objectives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements
  • Act as voice of the end-user maintaining a deep understanding of team member feedback ensuring outstanding solutions are delivered 
  • Lead a high-performing team with a focus on fostering a positive team member experience, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Salesforce Architecture team within IT
  • Drive user adoption through collaboration with the training team
  • Provide feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements and contribute to removing roadblocks or impediments

Client:

  • Drive an integrated client experience for all personae across the Salesforce ecosystem in alignment with corporate strategic objectives
  • Act as voice of the end-user maintaining a deep understanding of client and prospect feedback ensuring outstanding solutions are delivered 
  • Communicates and champions product benefits to executive management, practice leaders and other stakeholders

Value:

  • Own and evolve the Salesforce product roadmap, aligning with business goals and user needs across global teams (e.g., Executive, Service Delivery, Global Shared Services, tax.com)
  • In conjunction with the Salesforce technical team, lead and manage the successful delivery of enhancements as defined in sprint and release planning and meeting or exceeding defined success criteria
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for development team
  • Work directly with executive management, practice leaders and other stakeholders to prioritize the backlog to meet Ryan’s tactical and strategic goals
  • Collaborate with the technical and functional delivery teams grooming the product backlog and planning release management
  • Ensure all Salesforce solutions maintain data integrity by recognizing established systems of record and collaborating with the appropriate product management teams
  • Oversee change management, training requirements and communication plans
  • Oversee the governance process for Salesforce changes, ensuring compliance, scalability, and alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Stay current on Salesforce releases, features, and best practices to guide innovation
  • Monitor platform performance, user feedback, and analytics to inform continuous improvement

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in a related field
  • 8-10 or more years of Product Management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5-7 years as a Salesforce Product Owner in a complex, global environment
  • Experience with Salesforce Unlimited Edition, Data Cloud, or Agentforce preferred

Additional Required Skills and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of Agile approaches (e.g., DAD, SAFe, Kanban) and Salesforce governance frameworks
  • Demonstrates expertise creating and maintaining User Stories, Product Backlogs and Product Roadmaps
  • Demonstrates ability to balance the delivery of projects against the realities of limited resources using problem solving, project management and creative resourcefulness
  • Demonstrates ability to facilitate verbal and written communications across all levels of an organization in both an individual and group setting
  • Exhibits expert presence being comfortable delivering and defending analyses and recommendations to management and stakeholders
  • Deals well with ambiguity and intensity and thrives in a fast-paced environment driven by senior leadership requests and evolving needs

    

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced skills in Microsoft® Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license required. Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, or Product Owner credentials) are preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises Salesforce product team members in the Global Clients and Markets practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies and applicable laws.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm, clients, and interface with external vendors as necessary.
  • Independent travel requirement:  10%.
