A Brief Overview
A business operations focused role, leading a team responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the administration system used in the region for Data Administration. This role will work closely with the IT Delivery and Business Engagement teams and local operations teams, to prioritize initiatives and features that deliver maximum business value and meet business needs. This role will own the product backlog and ensure alignment between business objectives and the platform's capabilities. The role will also own the tactical and strategic plans where required including business cases, objectives, KPIs, MI/BI to drive operational excellence and assure RGAs long-term success.
What you will do

  • Work closely with project sponsors and in-market operations teams to develop strategic objectives into clear and documented product/project goals, objectives scope, roles, and responsibilities
  • Gather business requirements and translate these into clearly documented technical requirements which can be easily understood by stakeholders. Refine requirements as business priorities demand.
  • Manage project work plans, budget, communication, timeline, and delivery which includes sprint meeting leadership, participation in frequent meetings, and the development and publication of meeting minutes and/or project work plans
  • Gain a good understanding of and keep abreast of changes to all pertinent internal processes and procedures required to deliver product/project objectives
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies and identified risks to product/project leadership and committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence decision making and ensure delivery
  • Collaborate with the Head of Asia Administration to formulate an operations excellence framework comprising process mapping and improvement, continuous improvement, change, dashboard reporting for KPIs, KRIs, SLAs and other key metrics.
  • Develop, prepare, and present project specific business cases and internal stakeholders presentations.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned e.g. participate in and facilitate brainstorming meetings, strategic discussions, regular meetings etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a related field required.
  • 10+ Years relevant work experience as a project manager/product owner with a proven track record of successful project delivery in a large financial market; experience in the life and health (re)insurance industry preferred required.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile development methodologies; preferably with knowledge of agile planning tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, including business cases, objectives, KPIs, and MI/BI to drive operational excellence required.
  • Experience in managing change within an organization, including business process engineering and continuous improvement required.
  • Project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan; and, managing multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously required.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities required.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo in a facilitative and collaborative way; ability to quickly adapt to new methods required.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs required.
  • Persuasion skills when working with internal partners and external providers to resolve issues/problems required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing required.
  • Global mindset, demonstrating qualities of being open, dependable and connected; ability to manage and build strong relationships with global, regional and remote teams across multiple geographies and time zones required.
  • Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables; ability to handle tight deadlines, and multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously required.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following are desirable: Project Management, Product Ownership, Lean Six Sigma, Business Analysis, ITIL required.
